The Gene Mallove Collection
Christy L. Frazier
We would like to bring to the attention of our readers a recent addition to our website, called The Gene Mallove Collection. While our original memorial page for our founder is still archived on the site, we have created a broader collection of materials to honor the life, career and legacy of Dr. Eugene Mallove.
On our home page right side toolbar, one can navigate the pages of the Gene Mallove Collection: Biography, Publications, Photographs, Videos.
The Biography page includes an overview of Gene’s amazing life and work. Much more could obviously be written about his tremendous impact on the new energy field, and his commitment to family, friends and the betterment of the world. This page includes links to all of the memorial contributions we received after Gene’s murder in May 2004.
Gene was a prolific writer, hence the Publications section of the collection is quite impressive. This part of the collection links to five distinct writing-related pages.
The first, an Overview page, includes the following writings by Gene: an excerpt from a non-fiction essay, “Off to Explore Mars,” that accompanies the science fiction novel Red Genesis; the foreword to the MIT Class of 1969 25th Reunion book; an Analog piece, “Cold Fusion: The Miracle Is No Mistake”; links to numerous conference papers; overviews of other publications Gene contributed to in some way.
The Cold Fusion Magazine page highlights Gene’s brief time as editor of Cold Fusion, a New Hampshire-based glossy cold fusion magazine published for a short time by publisher Wayne Green. This part of the collection includes copies of all ten of Gene’s major coverage for three issues.
The Infinite Energy Magazine page overviews Gene’s work at Infinite Energy, which he founded in 1995. All of his 53 editorials are linked, and we link to some of his most important or well-received reporting for the magazine.
The Books page contains a summary of Gene’s three popular books, The Quickening Universe: Cosmic Evolution and Human Destiny, The Starflight Handbook: A Pioneer’s Guide to Interstellar Travel and Fire from Ice: Searching for the Truth Behind the Cold Fusion Furor.
The final Publications page, Freelance Publications, is in progress. An overview of Gene’s science writing career is presented. But, we are still working on linking to various documents.
The Photographs section of the collection includes five eras of photographs to peruse: Early & College Years, 1970s, 1980s, 1990-2004, Professional. Gene’s family graciously granted permission for use of most of the photographs presented.
The Videos section includes numerous interviews and presentations related to cold fusion/new energy. We do have a few personal videos linked as well. We will add more video (and perhaps some audio files) at a later date. The videos are housed on our New Energy Foundation YouTube channel.
We hope that you will visit the Gene Mallove Collection to learn more about Gene’s remarkable career and impact on science.
